About Us
The Wellington Hotel is opening a new restaurant focused on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and warm, genuine hospitality. Our menu celebrates Prince Edward County while drawing inspiration from great food traditions around the world.
We're building a kitchen culture founded on kindness, respect, professionalism, and continuous learning. We're looking for a passionate and driven Sous Chef to partner with our Executive Chef in leading the kitchen, building a high-performing team, and helping establish a restaurant known for exceptional food and genuine hospitality from day one.
The Role
As our Sous Chef, you'll be a hands-on leader responsible for supporting all aspects of the kitchen operation. Working closely with the Executive Chef, you'll help deliver exceptional food, mentor the team, maintain high standards, and contribute to the ongoing development of our menus and kitchen culture.
Key Responsibilities
· Support and lead daily kitchen operations and service.
· Lead the kitchen in the Executive Chef's absence.
· Coach, train, and mentor cooks while fostering a positive, respectful culture.
· Maintain exceptional food quality, consistency, and presentation.
· Assist with ordering, inventory, food costing, scheduling, and receiving.
· Ensure food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and organization are maintained.
· Assist with seasonal menu development and daily features.
· Work collaboratively with the front-of-house team to create an outstanding guest experience.
· Help build systems, standards, and procedures for a successful opening.
What We're Looking For
· 3+ years of leadership experience in a professional kitchen.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· Passion for seasonal, locally sourced cooking.
· Calm, solutions-focused leadership style.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
· Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain).
· Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
