Primary Purpose of Position
Sinopec Canada has a unique opportunity for a Senior Measurement Technologist to join our Production Engineering and Measurement Team. Reporting to the Manager, Production Engineering and Measurement, this role is responsible for providing support to the production, facilities, and production accounting departments with measurement related issues and ensure compliance to evolving regulations.
Roles and Responsibilities

Provide measurement and instrumentation technical support to engineering, field operations, and production accounting.
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal measurement policy, including field practices, preferred equipment lists and procedures.
- Maintain and expand measurement schematics to meet regulatory compliance.
- Maintain and support Fuel, Flare & Vent system as well as data collection and reporting.
- Support affiliated stakeholders with emission data collection and reporting, including guidance to evolving regulations.
- Prepare and submit applications to regulators for measurement related approvals and exemptions.
- Support EPAP compliance reviews (investigate, prepare, and submit responses)
- Participate in MOC’s (Management of Change) process – advise if impact to measurement and/or production reporting.
- Participate in industry groups/discussions on regulations and requirements.
- Advise production, accounting and facilities department on volumetric measurement and reporting as per AER Directive 017, 007, and 060.

Strong strategic thinker and technical analytical ability
- Self-starter who requires minimal supervision and is driven to find solutions
- Works well with diverse, multi-faceted teams, and is confident in presenting ideas to peers and leaders
- Advanced user in Microsoft Suite including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
- ProdView, Protrend and Envirosoft software knowledge would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of Provincial and Federal emissions reporting would be considered an asset
Qualifications

Ideally 10+ years of measurement experience in the oil and gas industry
- Engineering or Technical diploma in a related field (Petroleum, Mechanical, Instrumentation Engineering) or Journeymen Instrumentation and Automation.
