Job Summary
NACIT seeks someone to teach the Electrical/Electronic Engineering Diploma program registered with the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities. The successful candidate must follow NACIT policies and procedures.
An instructor manual provides courseware, resources, evaluations, and daily lesson plans. The instructor is responsible for following the provided instructor manuals and using the resource materials to train students with the required knowledge and skills to prepare them for employment in the field. NACIT emphasizes professional conduct and excellence in classroom instruction, primarily emphasizing hands-on training.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of the field.
- Instruct curriculum using only pre-authorized and provided materials.
- Teach students using a diverse and systematic plan of lectures, presentations, demonstrations, discussion groups, laboratory work, case studies, and independent or group projects.
- Employ appropriate adult teaching and learning strategies to communicate the subject matter to diverse students.
- Administer and mark quizzes, assignments, exams, and other assessments to monitor and evaluate students’ progress according to guidelines and procedures.
- Resolve student complaints and concerns with a positive and professional attitude.
- Assure that classrooms are left clean and orderly at the end of class without loss or damage to equipment or other resources.
- Provide support to the admissions team with potential students who have questions about the program or future careers.
- Maintain confidentiality of student privacy and information
- Stay current in the subject matter through professional development.

Skills Required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and learning management systems
- Excellent oral and written communication, presenting information so students understand and adapt to different learning styles.
- Professional business attire and interpersonal skills to act as a mentor and role model.
- Online teaching (training provided, but computer skills are essential)
Qualifications
- Have 48 months of work experience in the vocation OR
- Have 36 months of teaching experience in the vocation and 24 months of work experience in the vocation OR
- Have 24 months of work experience in the vocation AND
· Hold a bachelor’s degree from a Canadian University or an equivalent degree.
· Graduate of a College of Applied Arts and Technology or equivalent
· Graduate of a registered Career College or equivalent
- Meet Instructor qualification standards as outlined in the Regulations to Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005
- Must be available to teach on-campus per the accepted schedule.
