Long-Term Care Administrator

About the Opportunity
An established long-term care home in Northern Ontario is seeking an experienced Long-Term Care Administrator to provide strategic leadership and oversee the overall operation of the home.
Reporting to senior operational leadership, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the home operates efficiently and in compliance with all applicable legislation, professional standards, and organizational policies while promoting high-quality, resident-centred care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and operational accountability for the home
- Manage human resources and labour relations functions
- Prepare and oversee the annual operating budget
- Ensure adequate resources are available to support resident care needs
- Support quality improvement, risk management, and compliance initiatives
- Maintain compliance with applicable legislation including the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 and OHSA
- Foster strong relationships with residents, families, staff, and community partners
- Supervise and mentor department leaders and management staff
- Participate in ongoing professional development and sector learning initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in health care, social services, business, or a related field, or qualification as a grandfathered Administrator under Ontario legislation.
- Completion of, or enrollment in, a recognized Long-Term Care Administration or Management Program (minimum 100 instructional hours).
- Minimum three (3) years of progressive leadership experience in health care or social services.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Experience with human resources and labour relations is considered an asset.
- Strong computer proficiency.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence and ability to travel as required.

Additional Requirements:
This opportunity is intended for experienced leaders currently working in Ontario long-term care.
Applicants must currently hold, or have recent experience in, one of the following roles within an Ontario Long-Term Care home:
- Executive Director (ED)
- Director of Care (DOC)
- Assistant Director of Care (ADOC)
