We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Food Production Manager to oversee daily production operations, manage our production team, and ensure efficient order fulfillment from production through delivery.
Position Summary
As our Food Production Manager, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating all aspects of daily production. This role requires excellent leadership, organizational skills, and attention to detail to ensure production schedules are met, quality standards are maintained, inventory is properly managed, and customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
This is a hands-on leadership position that plays a critical role in the success of our manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
- Coordinate production based on customer orders, inventory levels, and delivery timelines.
- Supervise, train, and schedule production employees to maximize efficiency.
- Ensure all products meet company quality standards and food safety regulations.
- Monitor production processes and identify opportunities for improved efficiency and reduced waste.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels of raw materials, packaging, and finished products.
- Coordinate shipments, order fulfillment, and deliveries to ensure customers receive orders on time.
- Work closely with purchasing to ensure adequate supply of ingredients and production materials.
- Maintain production records, inventory reports, and quality documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, HACCP, GMP, and workplace safety procedures.
- Investigate and resolve production, quality, or inventory issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with management to improve production processes, increase productivity, and reduce operating costs.
- Lead by example while fostering a positive, accountable, and team-oriented workplace.
Qualifications
- Previous experience managing food manufacturing or food production operations.
- Experience in dairy or cheese manufacturing is considered a strong asset.
- Strong leadership and employee management skills.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management abilities.
- Experience with inventory management and production scheduling.
- Knowledge of food safety standards.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Food Science, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or a related field. (asset)
- Experience managing production teams in a food processing facility.
- Forklift certification (asset).
