East Point Reef Club is seeking a confident, hands-on Food Services Manager to oversee our seasonal food service operations during the 2026 operating season.
This is a working management position, ideal for someone who can lead a team, stay calm during busy service periods, support food preparation and guest service, and keep the operation organized, safe, clean, and efficient.
The Food Services Manager will oversee daily food service operations, supervise seasonal staff, manage ordering and inventory, support food safety and sanitation standards, respond to customer concerns, and help create a positive guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Staff Supervision
- Supervise food service staff, including cashiers, cooks, prep staff, concession workers, and other seasonal team members.
- Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, schedule, coach, and evaluate food service staff.
- Provide clear direction during service periods and adjust staff positioning as business levels change.
- Lead by example and foster a respectful, professional, team-oriented workplace.
- Support conflict resolution, performance feedback, corrective action, and staff accountability when required.
Daily Operations
- Oversee the daily operation of all food service areas.
- Ensure food service areas are clean, organized, stocked, safe, and ready for service each day.
- Monitor food quality, portion control, presentation, speed of service, and guest satisfaction.
- Support opening and closing procedures.
- Jump in as needed to assist with food preparation, cooking, serving customers, cleaning, stocking, receiving deliveries, and other operational duties.
- Communicate staffing, supply, guest service, equipment, or operational concerns to management.
Guest Experience
- Act as the primary person responsible for customer complaints and service recovery while on duty.
- Respond to guest concerns in a calm, professional, timely, and solution-focused manner.
- Support staff in delivering a welcoming and efficient guest experience.
- Identify recurring guest concerns and recommend improvements.
Inventory, Ordering & Waste Management
- Complete weekly food, beverage, packaging, cleaning, and operational supply ordering as assigned.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and monitor product levels, shortages, usage, and overstock.
- Ensure deliveries are received, checked, stored, rotated, and organized properly.
- Use first-in, first-out practices to reduce spoilage and waste.
- Support cost-conscious operations through ordering discipline, inventory control, and waste reduction.
Food Safety, Sanitation & Workplace Safety
- Maintain FoodSafe standards throughout food service operations.
- Ensure staff follow safe food handling, hygiene, sanitation, storage, labeling, cooling, reheating, and temperature control procedures.
- Support compliance with Fraser Health requirements and food premises expectations.
- Ensure cleaning and sanitation tasks are completed consistently.
- Promote a safe workplace and support WorkSafeBC expectations.
- Complete or escalate incident reports, safety concerns, hazards, equipment issues, and operational concerns as required.
Required Qualifications
- FoodSafe Level 1 certification required.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence required.
- Reliable transportation and ability to commute consistently to and from Bridal Falls required.
- Minimum 2–3 years of food service experience required.
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability and willingness to lead by example and work alongside staff during peak periods.
- Must be available to work weekends, statutory holidays, and peak business periods during the season.
Preferred Assets
- Previous supervisory, leadership, or management experience.
- Serving It Right certification.
- FoodSafe Level 2 certification.
- Experience in high-volume concessions, recreation facilities, water parks, tourism operations, quick-service restaurants, cafeterias, food trucks, or seasonal hospitality.
- Experience training seasonal staff or young workers.
- Experience with scheduling, ordering, inventory control, and waste reduction.
- First Aid, CPR, WHMIS, or other workplace safety training.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods, often 8–10 hours per shift.
- Work in a fast-paced, high-volume food service environment.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Bend, twist, kneel, crouch, reach, stock, clean, and move safely throughout the workday.
- Work in hot kitchen environments and varying outdoor weather conditions.
- Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain energy, focus, and professionalism during busy service periods.
Compensation & Perks
- $30.00–$34.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
