This new permanent position includes exposure to a wide variety of interesting work, including not-for-profit and charity law, wills and estates, estate administration, corporate-commercial, and real estate law.

Job description:
Junior law clerk on a collaborative solicitor team of two lawyers and two senior law clerks.
Tasks may include:
- preparation of documents for corporate and not-for-profit minute books
- incorporation of for-profit and not-for-profit corporations
- filing corporate changes and returns online
- obtaining information from clients or making appointments for clients
- preparation of applications for certificates of appointment of estate trustee
- preparation of authorization and directions
- preparation of notarial copies
- sending documents out for signature in Docusign or by mail
- correspondence with banks, investment corporations, other third parties to obtain information about estate assets
At the outset, all tasks will be supported with mentorship from senior staff and lawyers, as applicable.
Skills and Experience Needed
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Strong written and oral English language skills
- Superior attention to detail, time management and organization
- Effective client communication skills
- Law clerk diploma strongly preferred
- 1-3 years experience working as a law clerk in a Canadian law firm preferred
- Experience with Actionstep/Soluno, Adobe Acrobat, Foxit, Docusign, and Zoom are assets, but not required
