Westcana Electric is a leading Western Canadian Electrical Contractor with numerous branches across British Columbia. We are seeking a Streetlight & Traffic Signal Technician for our Prince George branch. The successful candidate will be a reliable, driven team member who will work to exceed client’s expectations and perform their tasks in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
Primary Duties
- Installing, Maintaining, Trouble Shooting and Repairing Streetlight and Traffic Signals Systems and associated equipment.
- Working in Traffic and Heights and in all Weather Conditions
- Provide and Adhere to a Weekly/Monthly Schedule and Regular Reports to Supervisor
- Provide Technical Information and Reports as Required
- Ability to be On Call
- Input Data on a Maintenance Program
- Keep all Equipment in Good Working Order
Desired Qualifications
- Certificate of registration as a Red Seal Electrical Journeyperson Electrician is required.
- Possession of IMSA Traffic Signal Certification will be considered an asset.
- Current First Aid/CPR certificates or ability to obtain certificates.
- Ability to follow Safety and PPE guidelines.
- Fall restraint training and certificates.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to travel on a regular basis. Class 3/Air Asset and BCCSA 20 Ton Level A Crane Endorsement will be considered an asset.
- Proficient Computer Skills
- Ability to Work Alone and in a Team Environment
- Trouble shooting and Repair of HID and LED Street Lights and Traffic Signals Employing LMD and Cobalt Controls
- Capable of up to date record keeping. Communicating with all outside parties.
- Knowledgeable with MOTI brands of Signal Cabinets and Controllers. M, S and P6 Cabinets. Econolite, Cobalt, Naztec and TCTs traffic controllers.
- Ability to Improve and Upgrade Skills and Knowledge of all Electrical Infrastructure and Equipment
