POSITION SUMMARY:
Sun Ridge Contracting is seeking motivated Skilled Laborers for a full-time, project-based role on an active highway construction project. Successful candidates will perform a variety of physically demanding construction tasks, safely operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment, assist with site preparation, crew activities, and contribute to a productive work environment. KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices, including participation in toolbox meetings and hazard assessments
- Perform physically demanding labor, including lifting, shoveling, moving materials, and site cleanup
- Assist equipment operators, and crew with site activities including material handling and equipment operations
- Ability to confidently operate packers, jumping jacks and other small equipment
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to safely operate, inspect, and perform routine maintenance on hand tools, power tools, and small equipment
- Prepare and maintain safe, organized work sites, including installing safety barriers and reporting hazards or equipment concerns
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Physically fit and able to work in demanding outdoor environments
- Traffic Control Person Record of Completion an asset
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Outdoor work in varying weather and site conditions
- Physically demanding work involving lifting, bending, and prolonged standing
- Exposure to heavy equipment, traffic, dust, noise, and uneven terrain
- Overtime, weekends, and night shifts required
- Clean, serviceable PPE is mandatory.

Pay: $28.00-$36.00 per hour
