Fowler Metal Industries Ltd. specializes in medium to high volume precision sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding and finishing. Established in 1972 we have been serving the sheet metal fabrication industry for over 50 years. We are currently seeking a CWB Supervisor.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this individual is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the Company's CWB requirements, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in supervising all internal weld qualities and suggest continuous improvement specific to weld quality
- Ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and safely, meeting customer delivery expectations
- Ensure that all Company and customer related quality standards are maintained on all fabrications
- Assist Engineering and Quality departments with weld coupons, cut and samples for PPAP
- Ensure compliance with CWB regulations according to Quality standards and blueprints using documentation, maintenance and development
- Ability to document weld procedures and create work instructions for production department
- Perform welding operations as required to assist with production operations
Duties are subject to change at the discretion of Management.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong welding knowledge and application, GMAW processes
- Ability to meet challenging deadlines in an efficient manner
- Must have superior welding skills and able to recognize opportunities for welder skill development and support them through positive training
- High attention to detail and accuracy reading engineered drawings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interface and communicate effectively with others, have strong interpersonal skills and be self-motivated
- Must be highly organized with the ability to multi-task
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to influence and adapt to continuous improvement driven changes within the plant
- Willing to consistently assist employees on the shop floor; build teamwork and participate in continuous improvement events and meet production schedules
- Maintain impeccable attendance and follow all Company policies and procedures
- Completion of CBW Supervisor course
- Knowledge in robotic welding and programming would be viewed as an asset
