Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Marine Technician to join our team to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot towboats and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and hands-on experience working with various tools. Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on marine vessels, engines, and related systems
- Diagnose mechanical issues using technical knowledge and diagnostic tools
- Use hand tools and power tools to disassemble, repair, and reassemble parts
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Assist in the installation of new equipment or systems onboard vessels
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems
- Follow safety protocols at all times during maintenance procedures
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience working on marine or similar equipment
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Prior experience working with marine systems is preferred but not required
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy parts when necessary
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Relevant certifications or licenses related to marine mechanics are a plus, but not mandatory
Pay: $20.88-$43.87 per hour
