Job Description: Kitchen Manager
Location: Manitou Ridge Golf Course
Reports to: Director, Culinary Services
As the Kitchen Manager with Purposeful Golf, you will ensure our kitchen operates efficiently while delivering exceptional, high-quality cuisine to our members, guests, and local community. The Kitchen Manager is a skilled chef and team leader who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and takes pride in culinary excellence, creativity, and organization.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director, Culinary Services in overseeing daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
- Cook and present high-quality dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.
- Support the creation and execution of menus that cater to the diverse culinary preferences of our members, guests, and local community.
- Ensure all food is prepared to consistently high standards, maintaining taste, presentation, and quality.
- Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a team-oriented and professional work environment.
- Prepare food for the Halfway House, ensuring fresh, high-quality, and convenient options for golfers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized kitchen, ensuring health and safety compliance.
- Oversee inventory management, ordering, and proper food storage to minimize waste and maintain efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal specials.
- Assist in catering and special event preparation, ensuring seamless execution.
- Maintain effective communication with the Executive Chef, kitchen staff, and front-of-house team to ensure smooth service.
Qualifications:
- Must have a Food Handlers Certificate.
- Previous Sous Chef experience in a restaurant, golf club, or catering environment is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and managing kitchen staff.
- Exceptional cooking skills with a passion for high-quality, creative cuisine.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation protocols.
- Experience with menu planning, food costing, and inventory management is an asset.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Work Conditions:
- Works in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment supporting the Kitchen Manager and culinary team.
- Stands for extended periods and performs physically demanding tasks including cooking, lifting, and organizing kitchen stations.
- Regularly exposed to heat, steam, sharp tools, and commercial kitchen equipment.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs (supplies, equipment, ingredients).
- Works varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak golf season periods.
- Oversees kitchen operations during shifts, ensuring stations are clean, organized, and running efficiently.
- Collaborates closely with chefs, line cooks, and other kitchen staff to maintain quality, consistency, and timely service.
- Operates in a safety-focused environment, following all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
- Maintains professional appearance, attire, and conduct while representing the culinary team
Compensation: $75,000/year
