Diesel X is looking for a hardworking and motivated heavy Duty Truck Mechanic Helper / Transmission & Differential Assembler to join our team. This position supports our technicians by assisting with heavy-duty truck repairs, rebuilding and assembling transmissions and differentials, preparing components for assembly, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist diesel technicians with heavy-duty truck repairs and maintenance.
- Disassemble and assemble heavy-duty manual and automated transmissions.
- Assist with differential teardown, inspection, assembly, and setup.
- Clean, inspect, measure, and prepare gears, shafts, bearings, synchronizers, and housings for assembly.
- Replace bearings, seals, gaskets, bushings, and other internal components.
- Follow transmission and differential assembly procedures and torque specifications.
- Identify damaged, worn, or contaminated components and report findings to the lead technician.
- Wash, organize, label, and stage transmission and differential parts for rebuilding.
- Use presses, pullers, torque wrenches, dial indicators, bearing heaters, and other shop equipment safely.
- Assist with final quality inspections before completed units are shipped or installed.
- Support technicians with truck repairs and drivetrain installation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and shop policies.
- Assist with inventory, core processing, and parts organization as required.
Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Interest in heavy-duty truck transmissions and differentials.
- Basic understanding of mechanical components and hand tools.
- Ability to read repair instructions and follow assembly procedures.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Reliable, punctual, and motivated to learn.
- Previous mechanical or shop experience is an asset but not required.
- Valid driver's license is an asset.
