Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Class 1 Flat Bed Driver (Highway) to operate heavy-duty flatbed trucks across highway routes. This role involves transporting freight safely and efficiently while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, experience with heavy equipment, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 flatbed trucks for highway freight transportation, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Secure loads properly using appropriate tie-downs and safety equipment to prevent shifting during transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and load security.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch regarding schedules and delivery status.
- Assist with loading and unloading freight when necessary, utilizing forklift or other heavy equipment as required.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance or repairs, including minor mechanical troubleshooting or automotive repairs to ensure vehicle readiness.
- Follow all company policies related to safety, hours of service, and cargo handling procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, specifically with flatbed trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles.
- Familiarity with freight handling and securement techniques.
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics is a plus to assist with minor vehicle issues.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for flatbed operation.
- Prior experience in heavy equipment operation is advantageous for ensuring safe handling of cargo and vehicle maintenance tasks.
- Cross border Experience.
Pay: $27.00-$27.75 per hour
