Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Finance Officer to join our financial services team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing financial planning, analysis, and reporting to support strategic decision-making. The Senior Finance Officer will collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with financial regulations and optimize financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, including investment performance and risk assessment
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports for senior management and stakeholders
- Monitor cash flow, budgets, and expenditure to maintain fiscal discipline
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Support audits and liaise with external auditors as needed
- Lead financial planning processes including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced qualifications such as CPA or CFA are preferred
- Proven experience in financial services or investment management roles
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, investment strategies, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Pro and Office 365
- Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration across departments
- Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively
- Prior experience in a senior finance role is highly desirable
- Prior work experience with a First Nations organization is highly desirable

Pay: From $85,000.00 per year
