Location: Storytelling Toronto office, at the Wychwood Barns, 601 Christie Street, Studio 173.
Duration: 12-month contract with strong possibility for renewal. A 3-month probationary period applies.

The Arts Administrator is the first point of contact with our members and with the public, responding to inquiries and promoting our activities through phone, website, newsletter and social media channels.
This position ensures the smooth running of the office, including purchasing supplies, organizing equipment and managing subscriptions. The Arts Administrator maintains files and email communications through Google Workspace.
This role is also essential for keeping our events running smoothly: setting up ticketing, organizing equipment and keeping performers and volunteers on schedule.
This role will require monthly production support for the Pillar event series and Festival events which happen on Saturdays. The Arts Administrator in concert with the Artistic Director, will ensure storytelling concerts, workshop, and the festival are delivered professionally and efficiently.
Before you read further, you’ll need to have…
- Positive interpersonal skills communicating through computer, phone and in person
- Proven ability to independently and efficiently manage multiple tasks and timelines
- A Valid Driver’s License
- Previous production experience with live performances
- Confident decision-making and collaboration skills when working with others
- Proficiency in layout, editing and graphic design (newsletters, survey forms and website content)
- Experience with Google Workspace, including administration
- Teleconferencing skills with Zoom and Google Meet
- Experience with social media, marketing and event promotion
- Event planning history including managing artist contracts, booking venues, renting equipment, ticketing and data collection
- Fluent oral and written English; proficiency in other languages, an asset
- Experience in practices of inclusion in all aspects of engagement

1) Member Engagement to
- Membership registration and renewal
- Actively rebuild and welcome interest in membership subscription and renewal
- Maintain and update the website
- Create communications about and provide administrative support for all ST activities
- Document and recognize contributions of all volunteers and donors
2) Public Engagement to
- Provide first point of contact in a professional, timely manner on all inquiries
- Coordinate ticketing and audience services
- Publish ST activity news as submitted for social media, press and membership updates
- Ensure funders’ conditions are met consistently, such as use of logos, credits etc.
- Manage event registrations, cancellations and refunds
- Follow procedures on received cheques/cash collected for ST activities
- Manage charitable donations through PayPal, Wild Apricot and Canadahelps
3) Board and Volunteer Engagement to
- Ensure new staff and volunteers receive an orientation package and follow up supports
- Track staff/artists/volunteers to complete HR training modules and send in signed contracts
- Prepare AGM documentation and send out required notification to membership
- Coordinate scheduling of online and in office use for all STT meetings
- Manage office landline and voice messaging and secure cloud storage
Pay: $25.00 per hour
