Job Summary
Calgary Joyful Piano is looking for a warm, responsible, and passionate Piano Teacher to join our growing studio.
We are a student-focused piano studio in NW Calgary, offering high-quality piano lessons in a positive, encouraging, and structured learning environment. We are looking for a teacher who genuinely loves working with children and can help students build strong musical foundations, confidence, and a love for music.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys teaching young students, communicates well with families, and is willing to grow together with a supportive studio team.
Responsibilities
- Teach private piano lessons to children and beginner/intermediate students
- Prepare students with strong foundations in technique, rhythm, reading, musicality, and practice habits
- Support students preparing for RCM exams when needed
- Communicate clearly and professionally with the studio owner and admin team
- Provide brief lesson updates or student progress notes when requested
- Follow the studio’s teaching structure, policies, and lesson expectations
- Attend teacher training or orientation provided by Calgary Joyful Piano
- Create a positive, patient, and encouraging learning experience for every student
Qualifications
- Minimum RCM Level 8 or equivalent piano training preferred
- Previous teaching experience is an asset, but training will be provided
- Must genuinely enjoy working with children
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Reliable, punctual, organized, and professional
- Patient, kind, positive, and encouraging teaching style
- Able to follow studio curriculum and teaching guidance
- Comfortable communicating with parents in a professional way
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Background check may be required

Schedule
- Part-time position.
