Our client is recruiting for a Senior HVAC/R Service Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing, troubleshooting, installing, and servicing specialized equipment while providing technical support and training to customers.
We're looking for an experienced Senior HVAC/R Service Technician to join our Technical Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed refrigeration, HVAC, or electromechanical technician who enjoys solving technical problems, supporting other technicians, and working with commercial refrigeration and foodservice equipment.
This is a hands-on technical role that combines in-house repairs, field service, technical support, equipment commissioning, customer training, and mentoring fellow service technicians. While this is not a people management position, you will serve as the technical resource for a small team of field technicians and help ensure service quality across North America.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial refrigeration and electrically controlled equipment.
- Provide technical support to customers, field technicians, and authorized service partners.
- Travel across Canada and the U.S. to perform equipment installations, commissioning, repairs, upgrades, and customer training.
- Troubleshoot complex service issues remotely and on-site.
- Support field technicians by providing technical guidance, parts identification, wiring diagrams, and service documentation.
- Review completed work orders, warranty claims, and service reports for accuracy.
- Assist with warranty repairs, equipment retrofits, and special technical projects.
- Maintain demonstration equipment and perform repairs within the Mississauga service facility.
- Develop spare parts kits and recommend replacement components.
- Help create and update technical manuals, service procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Coordinate technical training for service partners and internal technicians.
- Stay current on new equipment, product improvements, and industry best practices.
- Provide service coverage when field technicians are unavailable.
Qualifications
- 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic, HVAC, Electrical, Electromechanical, or related technical background preferred.
- 3–5+ years of commercial field service experience troubleshooting refrigeration, HVAC, or electromechanical equipment.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and mechanical drawings.
- Experience installing, servicing, and commissioning commercial equipment.
- Comfortable supporting customers and technicians both remotely and on-site.
- Experience with warranty repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment retrofits is an asset.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and electronic work order systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Canada and the U.S.
