Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide high-quality care to individuals in private homes. The ideal candidate will assist with daily activities, medication management, and personal care needs, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for clients. Experience in senior care, dementia care, hospice, or working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued. Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Support patients with meal preparation and feeding needs
- Help with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe environment
- Monitor and report on clients’ health status and any changes in condition
- Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Assist with transfers and heavy lifting to ensure client safety and comfort
- Support clients with dementia or other cognitive impairments through specialized care techniques
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospice care, or home care is preferred
- Knowledge of patient care procedures, medication administration, and senior care best practices
- Ability to work with individuals with disabilities and those suffering from dementia or chronic illnesses
- Strong caregiving skills combined with compassion and patience
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility needs
- Experience in meal preparation and basic cleaning tasks is advantageous
- Certification or training in caregiving or nursing assistance is a plus but not mandatory
- Reliable transportation and the ability to work flexible hours as needed
