We are looking to add a Pension Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and experience with defined benefit pension administration. This position will report to the Production Team Lead.
Key Responsibilities
- Process calculations, correspondence and database updates for terminations, retirements and death events.
- Provide customer service and administration for benefit payments for an assigned group of participants.
- Communicate the benefits of the Plan and provide information to members verbally and in writing.
- Validate pension and termination benefits and obtain the necessary documentation.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements using the set guidelines of the Pension Benefits Act, Income Tax Act and other relevant legislation.
- Look to continuously improve processes and improve the member experience.
- Adhoc tasks as required
Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility to work as an effective team member and independently.
- Minimum 3 years of pension administration experience.
- Candidate must be organized and have strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Eager - Enthusiastic and Energetic
- Beneficial: Completion of PPAC or CEBS
- Bilingual in French
Education
- Education University Degree
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the Pension Industry
- CEBS or PPAC certificate is preferred
