Canstar Mechanical is a design‑build mechanical contractor specializing in commercial, institutional, and light industrial projects across the Lower Mainland, BC.
Our services include plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, sprinklers, refrigeration, process and pneumatic piping, and Class “A” industrial gas fitting.
Position overview:
The Plumbing Foreman is responsible for leading site plumbing activities from rough‑in to finish, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, on budget, and to Canstar’s quality standards.
This role provides day‑to‑day supervision of plumbers and apprentices, coordination with project managers and other trades, and hands‑on technical support on our commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule plumbers and apprentices on site.
- Plan work to meet project milestones and adjust manpower, sequencing, and methods as required.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and submittals; ensure installation meets design intent and code requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, site supers, GCs, and other trades to resolve issues and maintain progress.
- Requisition and manage materials, tools, and equipment, minimizing waste and downtime.
- Perform and oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of plumbing systems (water, sanitary, storm, fixtures, pumps, etc.).
- Enforce and model company safety policies, participate in toolbox talks, and ensure a clean, organized worksite.
- Mentor apprentices, support training and development, and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Complete basic site paperwork (time sheets, daily logs, progress reports) as required.
Qualifications:
- Red Seal / Journeyperson Plumber (BC) or equivalent.
- 3–5+ years’ experience in commercial or institutional plumbing; foreman or lead hand experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of plumbing codes, standards, and best practices.
- Proven ability to lead crews, sequence work, and maintain schedule and quality.
- Comfortable reading drawings and coordinating with other disciplines (mechanical, sprinklers, HVAC, gas).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work at various sites in the Lower Mainland.

Pay: $50.00-$58.00 per hour
