Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism, with opportunities to operate heavy equipment and perform vehicle maintenance as needed.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including commercial trucks and vans, to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary.
- Ensure accurate delivery of products, verifying orders against delivery manifests.
- Maintain proper documentation of deliveries and pick-ups.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic automotive repairs or coordinate repairs as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during transportation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or issues.
- Assist with warehouse duties such as inventory management and freight handling when not on the road.
Experience
- Prior experience in commercial driving or freight transportation is preferred.
- Knowledge of forklift operation, heavy equipment operation, and automotive repair is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
- Experience with freight handling and logistics management is advantageous.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently is desirable.
