Overview
We are a fast-growing freight brokerage and logistics company looking for a hands-on Operations Assistant to join our core team. This is a key role for someone who wants to grow with the company and be involved in all aspects of day-to-day operations from dispatching and coordinating loads to helping improve internal systems and client relationships. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of logistics, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves. You’ll work closely with our leadership team to help streamline operations, support our carriers and customers, and ensure our business runs smoothly as we continue to scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily logistics operations including dispatching, load tracking, and coordinating with carriers and customers.
- Manage and maintain our transportation management system (TMS) to ensure all loads and customer details are accurate and up to date.
- Communicate with drivers, brokers, and clients to ensure smooth pickup and delivery processes.
- Assist with rate confirmations, load tenders, and shipment documentation. Identify process improvements to help enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Support leadership with operational reporting, scheduling, and workflow organization. (Optional) Opportunity to take on load-coverage responsibilities and earn commissions.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in logistics, dispatching, or freight brokerage operations is preferred.
- Strong understanding of 3PL and supply chain processes.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and general computer applications such as email and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, fast-moving team.
