Position Summary
The Psychology Consultant provides a range of psychoeducational assessments and consultative services to support students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. The successful candidate will work with schools to help facilitate educational programming to meet students’ cognitive, behavioural and social-emotional needs
Job Duties/Responsibilities

conducting comprehensive psychoeducational and functional assessments, including the administration of standardized psychological measures

providing classroom-based consultation for universal programming strategies and consultation specific to individual students
- making recommendations for referral to additional Division resources or to external social services, medical or community agencies
- participating in school-parent conferencing and providing individualized programming recommendations
- acting as a member of Critical Incident Support Services, providing support for staff and students following unexpected or traumatic incidents
- providing brief crisis intervention and supports to promote safety, stabilization, and recovery when incidents impact the health and well-being of the school community
Education/Qualifications

Master of Education in Counselling Psychology or School Psychology

registered and holds a valid practice permit with the College of Alberta Psychologists
- a minimum of three years related experience including providing psychological assessment preferably for school-aged children
- advanced skills in assessment, consultation, collaboration and problem solving to identify educational barriers
- experience with developmental, cognitive, behavioural, and/or learning assessments for children with complex physical/medical needs and diverse developmental and learning profiles, including Autism
Rate of Pay
$54.62 - $69.86 per hour
The hourly rate of pay reflects a market adjustment granted to Registered Psychologists. This market adjustment will be reviewed annually in the fall to determine if it should be maintained, amended or eliminated.
