PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibility of the Salesforce Developer is to design, develop, customize, test, and maintain Salesforce applications that support TRREB's business operations. The incumbent will build scalable solutions using Salesforce technologies, develop integrations with enterprise systems, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate closely with business and technical teams to deliver high-quality Salesforce solutions. This role requires strong hands-on development skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative Agile environment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
1. Salesforce Development
Design, develop, test, and deploy custom Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, SOQL, SOSL, Flows, and other Salesforce platform technologies.
2. Configuration & Customization
Configure and customize Salesforce applications, including objects, fields, validation rules, workflows, approval processes, record-triggered flows, reports, dashboards, and page layouts to meet business requirements.
3. Platform Enhancements
Develop enhancements across Salesforce Platform components, including Lightning Platform, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and other Salesforce products used by TRREB.
4. Integration Development
Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and third-party systems using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, Platform Events, middleware tools, and other integration technologies to ensure reliable data exchange.
5. Application Support & Maintenance
Provide ongoing support, troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, implement fixes, and optimize application performance and reliability.
6. Code Quality & Best Practices
Follow Salesforce development best practices, coding standards, and secure development principles. Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.
7. Collaboration
Work closely with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, Product Owners, QA Analysts, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
8. Testing & Deployment
Develop unit tests, support system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and assist with production deployments using established CI/CD processes.
9. Documentation
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, technical specifications, deployment documentation, and user guides.
10. Other Duties
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned from time to time.
HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent will follow safe work procedures and comply with all health and safety regulations. Personal protection and safety equipment will be used when required. Any injury, illness, unsafe act, or unsafe condition must be reported immediately to the immediate supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Salesforce Platform Developer I certification (required).
- Salesforce Platform Developer II certification is considered an asset.
- Additional Salesforce certifications such as Administrator, Service Cloud Consultant, Experience Cloud Consultant, or JavaScript Developer are considered an asset.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on Salesforce development experience designing, developing, and supporting Salesforce applications.
- Strong experience developing custom solutions using:
- Apex
- Lightning Web Components (LWC)
- Visualforce
- SOQL/SOSL
- Salesforce Flows
- Triggers
- Experience developing integrations with external applications using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, and middleware solutions.
- Experience working with Salesforce Service Cloud and Experience Cloud.
- Experience working with Salesforce APIs and asynchronous processing.
- Familiarity with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL is preferred.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is considered an asset.
- Experience using version control systems such as GitHub or GitLab.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD deployment practices.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Occasional overtime may be required for special projects, production deployments, system maintenance, or to meet project deadlines. After-hours or weekend work may occasionally be necessary.
This position will have access to highly confidential business information. The incumbent must ensure that all sensitive information is handled, stored, and protected in accordance with TRREB policies.
A considerable amount of time will be spent working with computers and Salesforce development tools.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Pay: $90,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
