Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with clients and project teams to ensure successful project execution. This role requires strong skills in construction estimating, pricing, and project management, along with proficiency in industry-standard software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid. The Construction Estimator will play a critical role in securing new projects and maintaining competitive bidding practices to support our company's growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive construction cost estimates based on project plans, specifications, and client requirements.
- Utilize Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating software to prepare detailed bid proposals.
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and scope of work to determine accurate pricing and resource requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing information and negotiate terms.
- Assist in the preparation of bid packages, proposals, and contractual documents.
- Review and refine estimates to ensure competitiveness while maintaining profitability.
- Monitor industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to keep estimates current and accurate.
- Support project management teams during project execution by providing cost control insights.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and related documentation for future reference.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating, with a strong understanding of construction processes and terminology.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating or project management software.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with vendors and subcontractors.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex drawings and technical specifications.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
- Knowledge of pricing strategies within the construction industry.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred but not mandatory based on experience.
