Onsite Supervisor – S.A.I.L. Program
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent (40 hours/week)
Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba
Salary: $49,753 – $54,367 annually (depending on qualifications and experience)
The Onsite Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, supervision, and coordination of onsite staff who support youth living in our S.A.I.L. apartments. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality services by providing coaching, training, scheduling, performance management, and operational oversight while maintaining a safe and supportive environment for both clients and staff.
The successful candidate is a strong leader who is organized, approachable, and able to effectively balance staff supervision with direct client support when required.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and support to onsite staff and Facility Workers.
- Develop, maintain, and adjust staff schedules to ensure appropriate staffing coverage.
- Recruit, interview, orient, and train new onsite employees.
- Identify, coordinate, and monitor ongoing training and professional development for onsite staff.
- Conduct regular supervision meetings and provide timely coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Complete annual and probationary performance evaluations.
- Ensure staff adhere to agency policies, procedures, and program expectations.
- Provide leadership and support during crisis situations, including assisting staff with de-escalation and complex client concerns.
- Respond to calls and provide operational support to program locations during scheduled shifts.
- Ensure the safety and security of apartment buildings, agency vehicles, and surrounding property.
- Support clients residing within the apartment buildings and community as needed.
- Complete monthly facility and program reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Coordinate with management regarding staffing, building operations, maintenance concerns, and client issues.
- Provide direct coverage for onsite staff during absences or emergency situations as required.
- Promote a collaborative, respectful, and positive team environment focused on quality service delivery.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant supervisory experience will be considered.
- Previous experience supervising, leading, mentoring, or coordinating staff is considered an asset.
- Experience working within supported independent living, housing, or residential programs is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with behavioural, emotional, mental health, or substance use challenges.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in crisis situations.
- Proficiency with scheduling, documentation, and basic computer applications.
- Valid Manitoba Class 5 driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Current Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) and ASIST certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check.
Schedule: This position follows a rotating two-week schedule:
Week 1: Monday to Friday, 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
Week 2: Monday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; Tuesday to Friday, 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
Occasional weekend shifts and/or daytime hours may be required to accommodate staff training and professional development workshops.
