This Senior Financial Analyst position in Recovery Alberta Business Advisory Services (BAS) will support Alberta Recovery, Focusing on the Operational and financial reporting needs of the organization. To develop, implement and monitor ongoing finance support of program. The successful candidate should be a self-starter, problem solver, demonstrate excellent technical skills in excel, and work well as part of a team. As you will be dealing with multiple leadership levels and different finance teams excellent communication skills is a must. This position location can be flexible as currently you will be expected to work from home, working hours are from 8:00am to 4:15pm. Job responsibilities include but not limited to: providing advice and expertise on financial policies, systems and procedures to operational leadership, compiling financial information and reporting, analyzing data, providing financial insight into solutions and submitting financial information for financial reporting. Other duties include journal entries, ad hoc reporting, variance analysis, reconciliation, and various month end, quarter end, and annual accounting duties.
Description:
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will coordinate and/or prepare complex financial and statistical analysis and reports, along with providing interpretation of analyses and reports to support business and external requirements. Your work will be focused on budgets, forecasting, recommendations for program and/or cost efficiencies and development or enhancements to processes and controls. In addition, you will coordinate and monitor progress of financial projects, as well as coach and guide other department staff such as Financial Analysts.

Required Qualifications:
Post secondary degree specializing in accounting or related field (e.g. economics, statistics).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Advanced MS Excel skills. Minimum of two years of accounting or financial experience. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills. Ability to perform strategically and systematically. Work with minimum supervision. Ability to meet defined deadlines Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of the team. Ability to think critically and problem solver.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary diploma specializing in accounting or related field (e.g. Economics, Statistics, Finance). CPA Designation preferred. Minimum 3 years of health finance related experience.
