We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented CPA (Canada) Accountant or Experienced Bookkeeper to join our dedicated team.
About the Role
As a CPA Accountant or Senior Bookkeeper at Industrial Rigging & Supply, you will be integral to our financial operations — ensuring accuracy, compliance, and supporting our continued growth. You will manage various accounting and bookkeeping functions, providing essential financial insights that drive strategic business decisions. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional to thrive in a specialized manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Oversee and manage all general ledger accounts, ensuring precise and timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Execute thorough month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Prepare and file various tax returns (e.g., corporate tax, HST, WSIB, Payroll remittances) and ensure strict compliance with all relevant tax regulations in Ontario and Canada.
- Process payroll and submit T4s and Records of Employment (ROEs).
- Actively participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for operational and financial improvement.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and clear explanations.
- Develop, implement, and refine accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and support overall business objectives.
- Stay current with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and industry regulations.
Qualifications
We welcome applications from either of the following profiles:
Option A — CPA Accountant
- Designated Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, Canada) in good standing.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and, if applicable, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Option B — Experienced Bookkeeper
- Minimum 5 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with payroll processing, HST/tax filings, WSIB remittances, and year-end preparation.
- Experience working with an external CPA firm for year-end is considered an asset.
All Applicants Must Have:
- Proficiency in accounting/bookkeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (bilingual in French is an asset).
- Familiarity with Ontario tax regulations and manufacturing accounting principles is highly desirable.
