Expected Salary Range: $90810 - $113512 Annually
Target Variable Performance Pay: 8%

The final salary offered will be determined based on a holistic assessment of the candidate’s experience, education, training, and alignment with the role’s requirements. For positions covered by a collective agreement, placement within the range will follow the applicable step or classification.
The Sustainability Associate plays a role in advancing the organization’s sustainability and ESG strategy and reporting, helping turn goals into measurable impact. Through data-driven insights, cross-functional collaboration and project leadership, you will drive initiatives that embed sustainable practices across the business, monitor performance against key metrics and contribute to transparent, meaningful outcomes that support both organizational priorities and long-term value creation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the execution and continuous improvement of sustainability and ESG initiatives, helping embed sustainable practices across business operations and advance environmental, social and governance priorities.
- Collects, analyzes and manages sustainability data to monitor performance, track performance against targets, identify trends and support data-driven decision-making
- Assists in the preparation of sustainability, dashboards, leadership updates and other reporting materials to promote transparency, accountability, and performance tracking
- Collaborate with cross functional teams, working groups and committees to drive alignment, support program implementation and advance key sustainability objectives
- Contributes to stakeholder engagement, employee awareness, and communications efforts by developing materials, recommendations and insights that support program adoption and organizational understanding
- Research emerging sustainability trends, standards and best practices, identifying opportunities to enhance programs, improving processes and supporting the organizations long-term sustainability commitments
REQUIREMENTS:
- Post secondary education in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Commerce or Energy Systems (or related field). A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Three (3) to Five (5) or more years of progressive experience working with sustainability initiatives and/or programs in an operational or corporate environment
- Specialized certification, designation or program in Sustainability (considered an asset)
- Strong understanding of corporate sustainability reporting and practices
- Familiarity with global sustainability reporting frameworks and standards
- Experience working in the utilities industry is considered an asset
- Understanding of operational environments (e.g., facilities, utilities, infrastructure, or asset-based organizations)
- Knowledge of data management and reporting systems used for sustainability tracking
- Demonstrates an innovative approach to problem solving and continual improvement
- Demonstrates an active commitment to safety
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Results driven and strong organizational/ time management skills
- Strong ability to influence and persuade others
- Proficiency in reporting/visualization tools (i.e. Advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau etc.)

This position is based in a hybrid environment allowing for remote work two days per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come onsite Tuesday to Thursday. You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
