Job Title: Course Coordinator
Independent Contractor Position for 12 months of approximately of 6 hours per month at $35 per hour to a maximum of $2,500.00.

Reports to: Board/Chair of Storytelling Toronto
Location: Storytelling Toronto office, at the Wychwood Barns, 601 Christie Street, Studio 173 and remote.
Duration: 12-month contract with strong possibility for renewal. A 3-month probationary period applies.

Specialty courses are targeted to specific audiences and storytelling genres such as converting a literary story to one that you can tell orally, shaping your family stories, or the use of improv and storytelling
Before you read further, you’ll need to have…
- Teaching experience with in person and online students
- Curriculum development experience for adult programming
- Knowledge of storytelling genres and competencies
- Experience working in the arts sector
- Proven ability to independently and efficiently manage multiple tasks and timelines
- Confident decision-making and collaboration skills when working with others
- Proficiency with digital forms, documents and teleconference
- Experience with booking venues and promoting events
- Positive interpersonal skills communicating through computer, phone and in person
- Experience in practices of inclusion in all aspects of engagement
And be able to apply your skills and experience in areas of:
1) Course Refreshing and Creation
- Ensuring CORE Courses are refreshed and successfully delivered annually
- Delivering a range of courses appealing to larger storytelling audiences and members, such as Family Stories, Transformations and Improv for storytellers
2) Hiring and Scheduling Instructors
- Respond in a professional, timely manner to all course inquiries
- Create an annual schedule of courses with Board approval
- Develop contracts for instructors
- Recruit, manage and hire contract instructors for courses
- Orient and train new instructors (AODA, Zoom, Wild Apricot, specific venue requirements)
- Work closely with the Arts Administrator and instructors to monitor enrolments and to promote courses
- Set course fees, manage discounts and bursaries
- Communicate with the Artistic Director to ensure the timing of course delivery is appropriate
- Meet annually with course instructors
Course Evaluation and Reporting
- Develop feedback evaluations for reviewing Contract staff and course content
- Work with the Arts Administrator to select venues and schedule Zoom on-line courses as required
- Improve procedures for documenting the successful impact of delivering courses
- Provide seasonal reports to the Board on Courses
- Provide a report for the Annual General Meeting
- Ensure the collection of relevant statistics specific to CADAC data for courses
Pay: $35.00 per hour
