Job Summary
Healthfitters, a boutique-style health shop, is seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Sales Associate to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional service to our valued customers by assisting with product selection, processing transactions, and driving sales through effective communication and product knowledge. This role requires passion for natural health, strong attention to detail, initiative and strong work ethic, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to engage with customers in a higher-end retail environment with professionalism and diplomacy.
Candidates with experience in a natural health setting and/or retail sales and merchandising will be highly valued. However, we provide excellent training and support to our staff. This role is a temporary maternity leave part-time position but may evolve into a permanent position. Starting wages are contingent upon product knowledge, qualifications, and experience. Opportunities for advancement and further pay raises are available.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and ascertain their needs to provide personalized service.
- Demonstrate product features and benefits to enhance customer understanding and satisfaction.
- Prepare attractive merchandising displays.
- Utilize POS systems efficiently to process transactions accurately.
- Engage in upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintain knowledge of current promotions, products, and services to effectively inform customers.
- Assist in inventory management: receiving stock, pricing, restocking shelves and organizing merchandise displays.
- Process online orders, packaging, and arranging shipping to online customers.
- Collaborate with management and team members to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive work environment.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure a seamless shopping experience.
- General cleaning inside the store and shoveling walkways during winter.
- Update product offerings on website.
- When our marketing team needs assistance, you may be required to create posts for social media and respond to inquiries from followers
- Opening and closing the store.
- Other miscellaneous duties as required.
Requirements
- Professional and modest in appearance and conduct toward management, co-workers, and clientele.
- Friendly, approachable, trustworthy, honest, respectful, and caring; enjoys working with the public.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency with computers and basic math skills.
- A passion for natural health and a desire to learn how to help customers find the right solutions for their needs. Experience in natural health is preferred.
- Problem-solving skills and the initiative and common sense to take appropriate action without direction.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work unsupervised once properly trained.
- Familiarity with POS systems and retail operations.
- Previous experience in retail sales and merchandising.
- A proactive approach to selling, with experience in upselling or technical sales is highly desirable.
- Flexibility can be granted in terms week days, however, you will be required to work between 10am and 5pm on any given weekday. Saturday hours are from 10am to 4pm. We are closed all Sundays.
