Utopia Café & Play is launching a new weekly creative program for children ages 3 to 5, and we’re looking for a fun, energetic, and reliable Dance Instructor to lead engaging movement‑based sessions once every 4 weeks as part of our curriculum.
This role is ideal for someone who loves working with kids, enjoys creative expression, and can confidently lead a group in a structured but playful environment.
About the Program
- Weekly creative program for children ages 3–5, including arts and crafts, dance and music lessons.
- Maximum 15 children per session
- Dance instruction offered once every 4 weeks within the program
- Sessions run Wednesdays between 3 PM and 5 PM
- One-hour dance class per session
- Classes are un-parented but parents stay on-site
- A Utopia staff member will always be present to support with logistics and classroom management
What You’ll Do
- Lead a one-hour dance session for young children
- Create age‑appropriate movement activities, themed sessions, or simple choreography
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment
- Collaborate with our team to ensure smooth class flow
- Communicate clearly with parents and staff
- Bring creativity, enthusiasm, and patience to every session
What We’re Looking For
- Experience teaching dance or movement to children
- Background in dance, performing arts, early childhood education, or related fields
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable leading groups
- Ability to adapt activities for different skill levels
- Friendly, warm, and engaging personality
Pay: $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 2.0 per week
Work Location: In person
