Additional Note: This client will need a full-time caregiver during the coming summer as her current caregiver will not be available. Anyone who can provide coverage at this time may be considered a good prospect for the full-time role.

- Listed in the Health Care Aide (HCA) Directory (mandatory).
- English proficiency.
- Previous experience in home care, personal care, or mobility assistance (preferred).
- Police Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Check (required).
- Proof of negative TB skin test or medical clearance (required).
- First Aid/CPR certification (preferred but not mandatory).
- Compassionate, reliable, and adaptable to client preferences.
- Has a reliable car and can drive
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
- Help with meal preparation and planning, ensuring dietary needs are met.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
- Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Support clients with dementia care, providing specialized attention and understanding of their unique needs.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care is provided.
- Offer hospice care support when required, ensuring dignity and comfort during end-of-life stages.
Skills
- Experience in senior care or home care settings is highly desirable.
- Strong caregiving skills with the ability to handle heavy lifting as needed.
- Proficient in meal preparation and understanding nutritional requirements for seniors.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and safety practices.
- Familiarity with dementia care techniques and compassionate communication strategies.
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization within the client's living space.
- Previous experience in nursing homes or hospice care is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy towards clients' needs.
