About the Role: We are seeking a positive, highly skilled and detail-oriented Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate is an expert in TIG (GTAW) welding with secondary proficiency in MIG (GMAW). You will work primarily with stainless steel and aluminum. A mandatory requirement for this role is the ability to lay clean warp-free, and structurally sound TIG welds on extremely thin materials, specifically 22-gauge stainless steel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high precision TIG welding on stainless steel and aluminum products.
- Execute clean, distortion-free welds on 22Ga stainless steel.
- Perform MIG welding as required with attention to detail based on project specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
- Set-up welding machines, including selecting proper gas, filler metals, and employing backpurging techniques
- Inspect welds for accuracy, penetration, and aesthetic quality.
- Complete work tasks in a safe manner and in accordance with both provincial legislation and company policies.
- Bonus: Operate or a willingness to learn how to operate laser welding equipment for high-precision joint work
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in TIG welding (GTAW), specifically with thin gauge materials
- Proven experience welding both stainless steel and aluminum
- Deep understanding of heat control, distortion mitigation, and gas purging techniques for stainless steel
- Solid proficiency in MIG welding (GMAW)
- General knowledge of Manufacturing methods and procedures
- Working knowledge with Microsoft based computer applications.
- Work well in a team environment.
- Strong written, verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Displays a commitment to safety in the workplace.
- Preference may be given to applicants who also have experience with handheld or automated laser welding systems.
Please Note: As a part of the interview process, applicants may be required to pass a rigorous hands-on practical weld test (including a 22Ga stainless joint).
Pay: $30.00-$34.00 per hour
