Early Childhood Educator – Infant Toddler (ECE IT)

About the Role
Maple Montessori Childcare is seeking a passionate, experienced, and dedicated Early Childhood Educator – Infant Toddler (ECE IT) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants and toddlers while supporting their growth, well-being, and early learning experiences.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid British Columbia Early Childhood Educator Infant Toddler (ECE IT) Certification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in a licensed infant toddler childcare setting.
- Current First Aid Certification.
- Valid Criminal Record Check.
- Strong understanding of child development, licensing regulations, and best practices for infant and toddler care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional team.
- Ability to maintain a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Language Requirement
- Fluent English language skills (spoken and written) are required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, colleagues, and regulatory agencies.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and language development of infants and toddlers.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment that promotes learning through meaningful experiences.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children and families.
- Observe, document, and communicate children's development and progress.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by licensing regulations.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in care.
- Support daily routines including feeding, diapering, toileting, rest periods, and transitions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to support program planning and implementation.
- Follow all childcare licensing regulations, health and safety policies, and centre procedures.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and ongoing training.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture.

Please Note: Only candidates who hold a valid BC Early Childhood Educator Infant Toddler (ECE IT) Certification will be considered for this position.
