Location: Projects Across Canada | Travel Required
Blueforce Logistics is hiring experienced Millwright / Mechanical Foremen to lead crews on industrial conveyor and material handling installation projects across Canada.
This is a hands-on Foreman position. We are looking for someone who can lead an installation crew, read drawings, coordinate daily work, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and work alongside the crew when needed.
Conveyor or material handling installation experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise Millwrights and Mechanical Installers on site
- Coordinate daily crew activities, manpower, tools, equipment, and work priorities
- Install, assemble, align, and level conveyor systems and mechanical equipment
- Install and adjust motors, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, drives, and related components
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, layouts, and installation plans
- Ensure installations meet drawings, tolerances, quality standards, and project specifications
- Troubleshoot conveyor and mechanical equipment issues
- Monitor crew productivity and project progress
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Superintendents, other trades, and client representatives
- Participate in toolbox talks, FLHAs/JHAs, LOTO, and other site safety requirements
- Ensure crew members follow all site-specific safety procedures
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work area
- Work hands-on with the crew when required
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of Millwright, conveyor installation, mechanical installation, or industrial maintenance experience
- Previous Foreman, Lead Hand, or crew leadership experience
- Strong conveyor and material handling installation experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with motors, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, drives, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Ability to read and work from mechanical drawings and blueprints
- Knowledge of equipment alignment and leveling
- Understanding of LOTO and equipment isolation procedures
- Comfortable working at heights and using aerial work platforms
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Able to travel for projects and work extended shifts or rotations
- Reliable, safety-focused, and able to maintain high workmanship standards
433A Industrial Millwright certification or equivalent is a strong asset but is not required for all projects.
Required PPE & Tools
Candidates must have their own:
- CSA-approved 6" or 8" steel-toe safety boots
- Safety glasses
- Type II hard hat with chin strap
- Cut-resistant gloves
- 5-point tear-away orange reflective vest
- Harness and lanyard
- Basic Millwright/installer tool kit
A complete tool list will be provided before mobilization.
Certifications
The following are assets and may be required depending on the project:
- Working at Heights
- Aerial Work Platform (AWP)
- Forklift
- LOTO
- WHMIS
- 4/5 Step – Ontario
- CSTS – Alberta
