We are seeking a Litigation Associate with 5+ years of experience to join a growing Aboriginal Law litigation practice. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced litigator who is passionate about Indigenous legal issues and enjoys handling complex rights-based, constitutional, and regulatory matters.
Develop and implement litigation strategies in collaboration with clients and legal teams
Manage complex Aboriginal law, constitutional, and administrative litigation matters
Represent clients before the Alberta Court of King's Bench, Saskatchewan Court of King's Bench, administrative tribunals, and regulatory bodies
Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, factums, affidavits, motions, and other litigation materials
Appear at hearings, mediations, and court proceedings
Advise clients on litigation strategy, risk management, and dispute resolution
Collaborate with colleagues on complex and high-profile litigation mandates
Member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta
5-10 years of litigation experience
Experience in Aboriginal, Indigenous rights, constitutional, or administrative law is strongly preferred
Excellent legal research, drafting, advocacy, and analytical skills
Experience appearing before courts, tribunals, or regulatory bodies
Superior organizational, time management, and file management skills
Ability to adapt to changing priorities while working collaboratively within a team
Experience with professional responsibility matters is considered an asset
