Job Purpose:
The Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for supporting the accurate maintenance of financial records and the preparation of timely, high-quality financial reporting across the Group’s entities. The role combines core accounting activities with financial reporting support to ensure the integrity of the general ledger and compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.
Working closely with internal finance team members, external auditors, payroll providers, and other stakeholders, the role supports the month-end close process, statutory and management reporting, payroll accounting entries, audit deliverables, and ongoing improvements to financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, hands-on, and capable of managing multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports and supporting schedules.
- Support the preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS (or other applicable accounting standards).
- Ensure financial information is accurately compiled, complete, and supported by appropriate documentation.
- Respond to internal and external requests for financial data and reporting support.
- Assist with external audit requests by preparing schedules and providing supporting documentation.
- Support responses to auditor queries in a timely and accurate manner.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to gather required information for regulatory and reporting purposes.
Accounting
- Support the month-end close process and ensure assigned tasks are completed within deadlines.
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, payroll, and other month-end adjustments.
- Record and prepare monthly payroll journal entries for Group companies, ensuring payroll costs and related balances are accurately reflected.
- Assist in maintaining and reconciling the general ledger to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciling items, escalating where required.
- Support intercompany transactions and assist in preparing monthly intercompany reconciliations across Group entities.
- Support initiatives to improve accounting and financial reporting processes and controls.
Experience & Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant accounting, audit, financial reporting, and month-end close experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
- Professional qualifications (CPA, ACCA, CA) is required or actively working towards completion.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and external reporting standards.
- Proficient in financial analysis tools and ERP systems (e.g., Quickbooks Online, LiveFlow etc.).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
