Reliable is seeking a Dispatch Manager in Surrey, BC to support our continued growth and become a key contributor to our expanding team. The ideal candidate appreciates a challenging and fast-paced environment and has the required ambition to support significant growth. The position includes the following duties and responsibilities:
Dispatch & Operational Coordination
- Oversee dispatch operations to ensure efficient scheduling, high driver availability, and optimal equipment deployment.
- Maintain service delivery standards, troubleshoot operational challenges, and promote seamless coordination between dispatchers and drivers.
- Ensure all dispatch activities align with the company’s safety and customer service expectations.
Leadership & Culture
- Lead and supervise the dispatch team, promoting a culture of safety, professionalism, accountability, and collaboration.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and development of team members.
- Drive standardization and continuous improvement initiatives in dispatch functions.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote a positive safety culture by leading by example and enforcing adherence to all safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all internal control requirements and applicable transportation legislation.
Communication & Representation
- Maintain clear, professional, and effective communication across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with management to report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and contribute to strategic decision-making.
- Represent Reliable with professionalism to staff, customers, vendors, and the broader community.

Qualifications:
- Three or more years of experience with managing a dispatch office
- Certification, diploma, degree, or other further education in a relevant field would be a plus
- This is an on-site position, but experience in managing a mixed work environment (in-office and off-office) is a valuable asset
