Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled QA Engineer with expertise in Node.js and React applications to join our dynamic software development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of web and mobile applications through comprehensive testing strategies. This role requires a strong background in automation, manual testing, and familiarity with various development tools and platforms to deliver reliable, high-performance software solutions. The QA Engineer will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to identify issues early and improve overall product quality.
Responsibilities
- Test and validate developer tickets against acceptance criteria before code is merged or promoted
- Execute and maintain the automated regression and smoke test suites ahead of production releases
- Document clear, reproducible test cases and step-by-step testing procedures for business and release sign-off
- Identify, log, and track bugs with detailed reproduction steps, expected vs actual behavior, and supporting evidence
- Collaborate with developers to clarify requirements and flag edge cases early in the development cycle
- Participate in release readiness reviews and provide go/no-go input based on test results
- Continuously improve test coverage and flag gaps in existing test suites
- Support UAT (user acceptance testing) by guiding business stakeholders through test scenarios
Requirements
- 1+ year of experience in software QA or testing
- Hands-on experience with Jest for unit and integration testing
- Hands-on experience with Cypress for end-to-end and UI testing
- Proficient with Postman for API testing and building automated API test collections
- Experience performing API testing including REST endpoint validation, request/response assertions, and error scenario coverage
- Familiarity with React front-end applications and Node.js back-end services
- Experience running regression and smoke test suites in a CI/CD pipeline
- Strong ability to write clear, concise test documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile/scrum workflows
- Good communication skills — comfortable raising blockers and escalating quality risks
Nice to Have
- Exposure to GitLab CI pipelines
- Familiarity with SQL for backend data validation
- Experience with performance or load testing tools
Pay: $51,674.53-$115,813.01 per year
