Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Physician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive primary care services to patients across all age groups, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered treatment. The Family Physician will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and utilize advanced electronic health record systems such as Accuro and Libre MD to deliver efficient and effective healthcare.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient examinations and assessments to diagnose various health conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication administration and pain management strategies.
- Manage acute care cases, providing immediate attention for urgent health issues.
- Provide pediatric care, including preventive services and treatment of common childhood illnesses.
- Coordinate patient care across different settings, including home care visits when necessary.
- Collect and analyze patient data to monitor health trends and improve treatment outcomes.
- Document clinical encounters accurately using electronic health records like Accuro.
- Educate patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and medication usage.
- Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, basic diagnostics, and minor procedures within the scope of practice.
- Participate in research initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes and clinical practices.
Requirements
- Medical degree from an accredited institution with valid licensure as a Family Physician.
- Proven experience in hospital settings or outpatient clinics with a focus on patient care.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and current clinical practices.
- Experience with electronic health records systems such as Epic and Cerner is highly preferred.
- Background in research or data collection to support evidence-based practice is advantageous.
- Skills in acute care, pain management, pediatrics, and home care are desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to handle diverse patient populations with empathy and professionalism.
- Prior medical office experience is beneficial for understanding administrative workflows.
- Licensure or Eligibility to practice in Manitob.
