Mansour Canadian Rail Motive Power Services Inc., offers specialized workforce that provides support to all Class 1 and Short-line railways. Our Motive power team provides several services for locomotives and track equipment. We are currently looking for a Welder to join our team!
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpret job work orders to perform required repairs; the focus is providing a complete, accurate, realistic, and timely repair to our customers
- Coordinate and complete repairs in an efficient manner and within assigned hours
- Notify the supervisor of any materials and/or equipment required to ensure the completion of job tasks
- Communicate and interact with crew members and the supervisor daily
- Follow all safety rules, keep the work area clean, and comply with all GRS Environmental Health and Safety Policies.
- Ensure AAR, GRS, and customer quality assurance standards are met
- Other duties as assigned including special projects
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years welding experience, preferably in stainless steel
- Experience with flux-core welding
- All CWB tickets (all positions) must be current.
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and write English at a high school level
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract
- Must be able to pass required training, background check, and drug & alcohol testing
- Able to work safely around heavy equipment, on top of and under railcars, and on railroad tracks
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to independently organize and complete work tasks to meet deadlines
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions, including blueprints and schematics
- Able to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Ability to wear required PPE (steel-toed boots, eye/ear protection, gloves, hot work PPE, fall protection, etc.)
