Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automotive Upholsterer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing, restoring, and installing upholstery components in a variety of vehicles. This role requires craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work with different materials, including leather, vinyl, fabric, and foam. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing high-quality work and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Remove, repair, and install vehicle upholstery, including seats, headliners, door panels, carpets, dashboards, and interior trim.
- Measure, cut, sew, and fit upholstery materials according to specifications.
- Repair damaged or worn automotive interiors to restore appearance and functionality.
- Install custom upholstery designs and modifications as requested by customers.
- Operate upholstery equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
- Read and interpret work orders, technical drawings, and customer specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project status and timelines.
- Follow company safety policies and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Automotive Upholsterer, Furniture Upholsterer, or similar upholstery role.
- Knowledge of automotive interior components and upholstery techniques.
- Ability to work with leather, vinyl, fabric, foam, and other upholstery materials.
- Experience using sewing machines, cutting tools, and upholstery equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.
- Preferred
- 2+ years of automotive upholstery experience.
- Experience with custom automotive interiors and restoration projects.
- Knowledge of automotive trim removal and installation procedures.
- Ability to read technical drawings and templates.
- Valid driver's license.
Pay: $17.95-$26.00 per hour
