Job Summary
The Crop trial assistant will play a crucial role in data collection and basic analysis of our horticultural research trials. This individual will be responsible for collecting accurate and consistent qualitative and quantitative information on various greenhouse grown crops.
Key responsibilities:
- Weigh, measure and inspect harvested fruit with a high level of detail.
- Accurately and consistently enter collected data into storage systems.
- Perform basic analysis of collected information.
- Conduct shelf-life, brix and acidity testing on fruit.
- Inspect fruit shape, colour, firmness, aging, cracking, etc.
- Conduct crop observations and report general data back to growers.
- Assist in setting up trials.
- Provide support to other departments as needed.
