Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fencer/Landscaper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of fencing structures, ensuring safety, durability, and aesthetic appeal. This role requires a strong understanding of construction principles, blueprint reading, and the use of hand and power tools. The Fencer will collaborate with other trades and adhere to safety standards to complete projects efficiently and accurately.
For Landscaping, you should have experience in Lawn mowing, trimming, edging,Planting trees, shrubs, and flowers. Mulching, weeding, and garden maintenance.Installing sod, interlock, and retaining walls (experience is an asset), Operating landscaping equipment safely. Loading/unloading materials and keeping job sites clean.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to determine fencing layout and specifications
- Measure and mark areas for fence installation or repair according to project plans
- Operate hand tools such as hammers, post drivers, and levels to install fencing posts and panels
- Use power tools including drills, saws, and augers for cutting, drilling, and assembling fencing materials
- Construct concrete forms for fence posts where necessary, ensuring proper alignment and stability
- Mix and pour concrete for securing fence posts using concrete finishing techniques
- Install various types of fencing materials such as wood, chain link, vinyl, or metal panels
- Perform caulking and sealing to ensure weatherproofing and longevity of fences
- Operate heavy equipment like mini-excavators or skid steers for post hole digging or site preparation
- Collaborate with team members on restoration or renovation projects involving fencing components
- Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols throughout all phases of installation
Experience
- Proven experience in fencing installation and landscaping
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating is advantageous
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, concrete forming, carpentry.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings such as schematics or blueprints accurately
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to construction sites fencing projects and landscaping
- Prior experience is a plus
