AB Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Arabic Teacher to join our elementary and middle school team. The successful candidate will help students develop proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding Arabic, while fostering an appreciation of the language’s cultural and historical significance. Lessons will be aligned with AB Academy’s mission of integrating academic excellence with Islamic values, and will support students in building confidence and identity through language learning.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Arabic language lessons for elementary and middle school students.
- Develop students’ skills in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension in Modern Standard Arabic.
- Foster cultural appreciation and awareness through literature, history, and authentic learning experiences.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including heritage speakers and beginners.
- Use interactive and student-centered methods to promote active language use.
- Assess and evaluate student progress using a variety of assessment strategies, providing constructive feedback.
- Create an inclusive and respectful classroom environment that encourages participation and collaboration.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to support student learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular and inquiry-based projects.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and community initiatives.
Qualifications
- Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
- Knowledge of and commitment to Islamic values.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Arabic, or a related field.
- Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification, or eligibility to obtain, preferred.
- Proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic, with strong literacy and communication skills.
- Experience teaching Arabic to children or adolescents.
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills in English (fluency required).
- Experience working with diverse learners, including heritage language learners and English Language Learners.
- Familiarity with digital tools for language learning is an asset.
- Experience with inquiry-based or IB teaching approaches is considered an advantage.
