Experienced Sales & Engagement Specialist
Location: Halifax – Pier 22 Cruise Pavilion Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour + incentives
About Us
Located in the bustling heart of the Halifax Cruise Pavilion at Pier 22, we’re looking for an experienced outgoing and charismatic Sales & Engagement Specialist to be the face of our shop during the peak cruise season (September–October, approximately 8 weeks).
The Role
This position is 100% focused on sales and guest engagement — no cashier duties, no order fulfillment. You’ll become an expert in our product line, mastering upselling and maximizing revenue during our busiest months while having fun and meeting some really awesome people at the same time.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage & Consult: Proactively approach cruise passengers, tourists, and locals, creating a fun, welcoming atmosphere. To thrive in this role, you must genuinely love engaging with people — and they should love engaging with you.
- Drive Sales: Use storytelling, tourism knowledge, and product expertise to maximize revenue from our unique product line.
- Connect with Guests: Build genuine connections, share our brand story, and help guests find the perfect keepsake or experience.
- Product Expertise: Learn the features and benefits of all products to answer questions confidently and enthusiastically.
Qualifications
- Proven success in retail, tourism, or direct customer-facing sales.
- Must be very comfortable initiating conversations, approaching guests, and maintaining a high energy level throughout the shift.
- Self‑motivated, energetic, and focused on creating memorable guest experiences.
- Reliable, with flexible availability during peak cruise season.
- Most shifts will run Monday–Friday, with part‑time hours that vary based on ship schedules.
