We are currently seeking an experienced dispatcher to join our team at our Port Coquitlam office.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for running your own board, building efficient pickup and delivery routes, monitoring live jobs, managing time-sensitive deliveries, and proactively communicating with customers and drivers when issues arise.
This role is not entry-level. You must be comfortable making real-time decisions in a high-volume environment and coordinating closely with other dispatchers to balance workload across multiple boards.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage same-day pickup and delivery routes
- Monitor delivery times and proactively troubleshoot delays
- Communicate clearly with drivers and customers throughout the day
- Coordinate work between multiple dispatcher boards
- Support drivers with route planning and problem-solving
- Maintain accurate job notes and system updates
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years same-day P&D dispatch experience (non-Amazon)
- Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
- Strong knowledge of Vancouver and the Lower Mainland
- Experience dispatching couriers, cube vans, and/or flat deck trucks
- Comfortable using dispatch software, maps, and multiple systems at once
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Customer service experience considered an asset
