Mine Equipment Operator – Yukon
Armstrong Mining is a growing mining services company supporting active mine operations in Yukon. We are currently seeking experienced, safety-focused Mine Equipment Operators to join our team. This role is suited for operators who are comfortable working in a production mining environment and committed to maintaining high safety and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy mining equipment such as excavators, dozers, graders, loaders, rock trucks, and support equipment
- Perform mining activities including overburden removal, ore and waste movement, pit development, and haul road maintenance
- Complete daily pre-start inspections and monitor equipment condition throughout shifts
- Report mechanical issues, hazards, and near misses in accordance with mine procedures
- Follow mine plans, grade control, and supervisor direction
- Comply with all mine site safety rules, company policies, and Yukon OH&S regulations
- Work closely with supervisors, dispatch, and ground crews to support production targets
- Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work areas at all times
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience operating heavy equipment in a mining environment
- Strong understanding of mine safety systems and safe work practices
- Ability to read and interpret mine plans, grades, and staking
- Physically fit and able to work long shifts outdoors in remote and changing weather conditions
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Willingness to work shift schedules required by mine operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Open-pit mining experience
- Valid equipment certifications and/or licenses
- Experience with GPS or machine control systems
- Class 1 or Class 3 driver’s license (asset)
- First Aid or mine safety certifications
